Spring has arrived in Paris in October, thanks to Paris Fashion Week. My favorite Fashion House, Dior, had a very theatrical show that began with a gunshot and a scream. Amid a technically structured stage set and dry iced runway, the star studded crowd gathered. Miss Dita Von Teese and Rihanna were in the coveted Front Row along with Vogue’s Anna Wintour and Bruce Willis. Fashion bloggers kept everyone in the States up to date with play by play Tweets. The collection was classical and screamed Old Hollywood Glamour. Designer John Galliano himself was quoted, saying he was inspired by actress Lauren Bacall, who also loved Dior. Models, red pouting lips and hair (that was given the old “one-two” with clips) that made for luscious cascading locks that oozed 40’s Screen Siren. The looks were beautifully designed with intense attention to detail that Galliano is famous for. Miniature pin pleats, sequined gossamer and lace edged silks show perfect design at the very best. It doesn’t get any more glamorous than this.
