Cannes is full of Candy

Cannes Film Festival is one of the most widely attended Celebrity Fashion Events of the Year, second only to the Oscars. The difference here is that you must be fabulously wealthy and well connected to just attend. Miami Olivia was in Paris during last year’s event and could not find a hotel room or parking space within 150 miles of the event which coincides with the Monaco Grand Prix. Actually it is impossible to find a spot to fit your car on the Riviera if it isn’t large and worth over a million dollars. The roads are packed. So this year, watching comfortably from my sunny deck, I give you CANNES.

Looking regal in her pink confection, Kate ruled the carpet, quite literally. She is one of this year’s judges, but that did not stop her from donning one gorgeous gown after another.

Naomi Wats, showed simple elegance and healthy arms in her very well cut Roland Mourant gown.

Gucci held the chocolate box this year with most of the celebrities wearing the label. Here both Jennifer Lopez and Frida Giannini are in different silver frocks at the Gucci Event. Marion Cotillard and Camilla Belle went with gun metal glitter for an edgy yet sophisticated look.

Some actresses just know how to look like old world Hollywood Glamour. You know, the days when actresses looks “lovely” and made men swoon! The flowing elegant air-like quality to these leading ladies gowns is as soft as cream.

The current crop of Hollywood girls out there are still in their “I get to be a Princess” Disney phase and they have never seen a red carpet they didn’t want to float some cotton candy down. Luckily, they both look fabulous in the yards of tulle.

Not everyone had cream puff in mind. Gucci created then donated this stunning jewel-toned one of a kind gown for auction. The proceeds will be donated to Hatian relief.  And chic, polished and amazing actress Carrie Mulligan opts for a Prada suit that is the essence of grace.
