Fairy Tale Dreams – Monique Lhuillier Spring 2011

Once upon a time there was a princess…or so the fairy tale goes. Monique Lhuillier had a dream of a beautiful girl in a lush Garden of Eden and was inspired to create her Spring 2011 Collection. A young designer with many dreams, the Hollywood world has embraced her talent. Stars will be ordering the fluttery ball gowns and glistening Cinderella Red Carpet numbers for weeks! Her lovely effusive use of flowing chiffon texture to skirts and the iridescent dragonfly colors are the stuff of romance and magic. The collection had silk pants in vibrant tangerines and day dresses in her signature dreamy floral spring print.  But the glory of the collection was the magnificent gowns in fabulous colors and delicate textures. Lazar cutouts and flower appliqué created lush texture. Monique Lhuillier still designs gowns with the one shoulder look for the dramatic effect it has. One magnificent gown of nude tulle, studded with golden shimmering crystals seemed to float to the floor in a cloud of gossamer.  We will be seeing many of the pieces on Oscar and Emmy Red Carpets.
