With Nautica it’s not just about the clothes but the experiences of life and the clothes that take you there. By road-tripping up the Cali Coast and doing a little surfing and sailing along the way, designer Chris Cox was inspired to create another winning Men’s Spring 2012 Collection. And to bring the experience to New York City, the Presentation was held at the Roof-top pool lounge of the Empire Hotel across from Lincoln Center. The day was as fine as a Malibu day and the split sail awnings gave the entire show a truly Nautica feel. Of course refreshing drinks were served and a cocktail party atmosphere prevailed in true American tradition at the very end of Summer. This collection for next Spring features all the active, nautical style and pieces ranged from sailing vests and swim trunks to light weight blazers and bright colored pants. Cox also collaborated with xx sail material company to create color block tote bags perfect for a dry set of clothes after a day out on the water. Accessories were perfectly paired. Sunglasses had a vintage California Surfer Dude style and watches and shoes could go from boating to the club without missing a beat. Kinda makes you want to grab a convertible and take a cruise along 17 Mile Drive.
