Valentino Couture Spring 2012

Valentino Design team;  Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have captured the Valentino legacy of lace and romance in this romantically stunning collection without a red dress in sight. Shown in Paris in the decadence of  the salons of the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild with a gilt fireplace as the backdrop, lace perfection after sheer gown, each look was a reach back in time to an era of incredible feminine beauty and grace. It was as close to the Valentino of old as it gets and Paris was eating it up. Enjoy the gentle opulence.

  1. The gowns are stunning. I just watched a documentary on Valentino called Valentino: The Last Emperor (available on Netflix)- which shows just how the designer brand values such preciseness and detail-orientation of each dress they create. Fabulous!

    • That Valentino Documentary was incredible. I cried for him. He was at Fashion Week in September and was very charming. Even though he is retired, the new owners seem to have kept his true spirit. Thank goodness.
