If Spring 2012 was all about champagne and glamour girls, then Fall is going to be about the inky night time glamour in the city. This collection for Fall 2012 had such a 70’s feel as noted in his program. But it didn’t take a read through his show notes to see the glitz of the 70’s to show through. Shiny satins and sequins were worked into crepe and organza. Several soft merino wool pants, coats and pencil skirts were paired with sheared mink collars. Fringe was big in the 70’s and Santana worked it cleverly in several pieces. One skirt had an ombre look using the fringe. Many looks are topped with a leather bomber jacket that sets the tone of City Urban, particularly when many of the looks had his new line of black suede, gold stiletto booties. One of the most stunning looks had a liquid silver tea length skirt with an enviable leather bomber jacket slung over it. The glamour was purposefully paired with comfort casual. The effect was a sensationally urbane look for the strong woman of the city. Even though this was a nod to the 70’s, the entire collection was firmly for today’s City Girl.
