Some of the New York Fashion Shows just don’t fit in the Tents at Fashion Week. Such was the Show for Jad Ghandour. This show with its Larger than Life Fashion just needed the drama of Cipriani’s on 42nd Street to complete the whole package. With the feeling of being in Europe, ceilings that are fresco emblazoned and detailed with chandeliers, Turkish carpets, the gilded chairs lined up in rows, and a glossy runway; this was the stuff of movies. Flash Fashion with a Rock Star appeal this collection is perfect for Miami with its Gala Season. Miami glam girls are always on the lookout for fantastic Runway worthy Ball gowns that have just enough glitz to wow the crowd but not so much weight in the tropical heat. The show opened with a flourish and ended with a shazam. In between were some fantastical creations; ball gowns made of the thinnest leather, skirts so short they barely covered and tiny fur stoles in juicy candy apple red. Sunshine yellow, a favorite color of the collection, reminded us that bright is nearly always more attractive in nature, as models nearly pirouetted in the middle of the runway to show off the lavish chiffons and silks. Some of the looks were paired with elbow length leather gloves in tropical contrasting colors. Hats and veils vamped some of the shorter looks giving them a sultry air. One lingerie look was in black peep a boo tulle and boudoir sexy. Makeup, provided by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and hair by Matthew Curtis, lead stylist for TRESemme was stunning and flawless.
