What’s Black and White and Red Carter all over? This largely black and white show gave a quick nod (in fact the designer claimed it as inspiration) to the Studio 54 era of disco balls and long legged dancers. Several pastel wigged, Nicki Minaj look-alike models opened the show with vivid swim suits and bowling ball sized disco balls for props. But the show moved into black and white graphic prints and solid black, some with fringe, in both bikini and one piece suits. The structure and construction of the Red Carter swimwear line has improved greatly over the years and indeed he has moved from Miami to New York to play with the big boys. The flames rose high as geometric reds and hot tangerines finished the show. In typical quirkiness of a Red Carter Show there were some high pointed hats and the final two looks sported huge black and red peacock like feather “tails”. You never know what Red Carter will have up his sleeve (or under his hat) but the swimwear was superb.
