The lady always makes an entrance at the Carolina Herrera fashion show. From the first stunning dress to the Karlie Kloss final gown, it is one long sophisticated “I want to be like that when I grow up” moment. The gowns float on air and yet they have just a bit of contemporary edge and chic modern fit. That fit is slim, belted (with the thinnest belts), long, lean without fuss, and always complimentary to a woman’s body. Color, it was said, Carolina has declared that Orange (in every shade) is the new black. Orange was swirled into nearly every look. The pieces that combined orange with dove gray and silver were exquisite. Details like covered buttons and cutwork on belts, multi-colored crystals on hems and sleeve edges take the Ready to Wear and cast it into Special to Wear clothing. Everything about the collection says something about loveliness, but above all, it is the way the gowns and dresses move. Carolina Herrera Spring 2013 Collection is for the elegant, graceful, refined woman who makes not only the gown her own, but life itself.
